Purpose of internship:
During this internship, you will learn how the logistics process works in a warehouse - from receiving and checking materials to cleaning, tidying up and preparing returned goods for shipment. You will actively work on maintaining a neat and orderly workplace, as well as ensuring a good flow of goods in the warehouse.
You will learn the importance of working accurately and efficiently so that materials are ready on time and in good condition for the next project. You will also work together with colleagues and learn how to take on tasks and responsibility independently.
The aim is that at the end of your internship, you will have a good understanding of logistics processes within a dynamic working environment, and that you will gain practical experience that will really benefit you in your future career.
Tasks & Duties:
1. Receipt of goods
- Checking incoming goods for quantity and quality
- Entry of goods into the system
- Reporting anomalies or damages
2. Storage and inventory management
- Placing goods in the right location
- Stock counting (stock counts/inventories)
- Maintaining order and cleanliness in the warehouse
3. Picking orders and preparing them for shipment
- Collecting orders using pick lists or scanners
- Packaging and labelling of products
- Preparing shipments and checking transport documents
4. Use of tools
- Working with forklift, reach truck or electric pallet truck (if certified)
- Use of warehouse software or ERP systems
5. Safety and quality
- Working according to safety regulations
- Signalling unsafe situations or equipment defects
Learning task
Objective:
Gain insight into the logistics process within a warehouse and perform simple warehouse work independently.
Terms of reference:
- Walk with an experienced employee and observe the process from goods receipt to dispatch.
- Perform order picking task independently with supervision.
- Pay attention to the logistics process, including areas for improvement you have noticed yourself.
