As Operations Manager for Germany at MTD, you will be at the forefront of our mission to provide top-quality temporary water infrastructure for a variety of applications, from high-profile industrial projects, festivals and global exhibitions to critical semi-permanent set-ups such as refugee camps and emergency hospitals. In your role, you will lead the Operations Team Germany on a daily basis. You will be responsible for coordinating, planning and supervising the execution of MTD's daily operational activities. You will also maintain close contact with the people behind MTD's success: Account and Project Managers on the progress of acquired projects, and the team of Field Engineers (technicians) on execution. Customer satisfaction, efficient use of personnel, resources and materials and the implementation of process improvements are central to your role. Finally, you design and oversee structures for effective planning and control of business processes to ensure optimal operations. You will report and advise to the Operations Manager Europe.

Job content
  • Daily management of the entire operational department within Germany (Project Managers and Field Engineers);
  • Act as a point of contact for employees regarding organisational or technical matters;
  • Monitors recording of hours and costs, as well as pre- and post-calculations;
  • Ensuring that projects are completed within deadlines;
  • Be responsible for water quality and ISO quality standards within MTD, requiring affinity with current laws and regulations;
  • Identify and analyse bottlenecks in quality and delivery times, propose and implement solutions where necessary;
  • Ensure proper coordination and planning between project management, Engineering & Design, Fleet and subcontractors;
  • Regularly visit project sites to keep abreast of ongoing projects and use this information to guide the organisation;
  • Hold regular project meetings with project managers and involve other stakeholders when necessary (such as project controllers for financial analyses);
  • Report on operational performance and budgets to management.
What makes you the right candidate?
  • HBO working and thinking level with an engineering or construction/infra background;
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in hands-on operations;
  • Good social and communication skills (in English and Dutch);
  • Customer-, service- and result-oriented personality;
  • Technical insight and quality awareness;
  • Organisational ability and improvisational 'hands on';
  • Stress-resistant and a flexible attitude;
  • Possesses leadership skills and is a 'motivator and leader' for the rest of the team.
