Help build critical water projects in industry, temporary housing and emergencies

At MTD, we provide temporary water infrastructure and treatment worldwide: from drinking water distribution to wastewater solutions. In our Flex business unit, we provide these solutions for projects in industry, temporary housing and emergency facilities, among others. These projects are often time-critical, technically challenging and require tight stakeholder management.

As Project Manager Flex, you are ultimately responsible for the successful realisation of your projects: from preparation and engineering coordination to execution, delivery, required maintenance and after-care. You are the central point of contact for both client and internal teams and bring structure to a growing environment. Mainly for projects within the Benelux and (sometimes) beyond.

In short

Project control

  • You lead Flex projects end-to-end: scope, planning, budget, quality and safety;
  • You will organise the execution together with the Field Engineers and other specialists within MTD;
  • You ensure customer satisfaction, clear communication and predictable delivery;
  • You will help further professionalise the Flex way of working(standards, processes and tools);
  • You attend meetings with customers, stakeholders (internal and external), suppliers and local authorities;
  • You take charge of H&S documentation and entering this information into relevant systems;
  • You liaise with customers of ongoing projects and proactively plan service rounds and evaluation moments;
  • You will have daily contact and collaborate with other departments within MTD, such as Sales, E&D and Field Engineers to make each project a success.

What will you do?

  1. Project management and execution:
    1. You translate customer demand and contract agreements into an executable plan (scope, deliverables, milestones)
    1. You coordinate internal disciplines (such as Sales, Engineering, Field Engineers and purchasing) and external parties (suppliers)
    1. You organise and lead project meetings and monitor progress, quality and risks.
  2. Planning, budget & control:
    1. You will create and manage project planning and ensure timely availability of people, materials and transport.
    1. You monitor budgets, forecasts and more/less work and make adjustments where necessary.
  3. Stakeholder & customer management:
    1. You will be the customer's single point of contact throughout the project, including projects that are already operational.
    1. You coordinate with stakeholders such as suppliers and (where relevant) local authorities.
    1. You manage expectations: you communicate proactively, clearly and solution-oriented.
  4. Professionalisation drive within Flex
    1. You will help develop standards and “best ways of working” for Flex (other than Events).
    1. You bring structure to a growing business: templates, project reviews, lessons learned, process improvements.
    1. You identify bottlenecks and work with colleagues on scalable solutions.

What makes you the right candidate?

  • You have HBO working and thinking level, preferably in a technical direction (civil/WTB/installation/infra) or demonstrably equivalent.
  • You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in leading technical projects, projects (e.g. civil engineering, plant engineering, infra, utilities, temporary facilities);
  • You have excellent communication skills (in Dutch and English), German is an advantage;
  • You can switch well in a dynamic environment: projects can be requested last-minute and require quick mobilisation;
  • You work in a structured way, take ownership and drive for results.
  • You have a clear overview of the status of your ongoing projects at any time;
  • You keep your project records up-to-date on a daily basis;
  • You are in possession of a driving licence (B).

This helps you excel (nice-to-haves)

  • Experience in temporary infrastructure, utilities, water/wastewater, pumping systems or process plants;
  • Experience in contract/scope monitoring, change control or (basic) project finance;
  • Experience of working in a growing organisation and setting up/improving processes.
