You will develop and implement quality policies that are continuously adapted to meet the high standards for drinking water and wastewater quality across our global projects. Together, we build temporary water infrastructure on a project-by-project basis, ranging from emergency hospitals for the UN to the Olympic Games. From gaining support from senior management and setting up your own QHSE department to training Service Engineers. To ensure we continue to meet the high standards for Quality, Safety, Health, Environment and Sustainability, we’ll give you the autonomy and freedom you need. You know how to implement these standards so robustly that we meet them across all our global projects.
THE ROLE
In this newly created role, you will be responsible for establishing your own Water Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability department and will manage an Environment & Sustainability Coordinator and a Water Quality & Compliance Coordinator. As a member of the Management Team, you will work closely with the Fleet Manager, Operations Manager, HR Manager, Flex Sales Manager and Events Sales Manager, and report to the COO. Given the increasingly stringent standards and regulations, establishing this department is of vital importance to our organisation, and you will be given every opportunity to take charge of both policy and implementation, together with your team. The aim of this role is to position MTD globally as the leading authority in the field of safe, sustainable and high-quality temporary water infrastructure.
WHO WE ARE
Working at MTD means working for and helping to build a growing, internationally operating family business specialising in temporary water infrastructure – for both drinking water and wastewater – for large-scale temporary projects. Together with our 140 colleagues worldwide – 70 of whom are based at our head office in Tilburg – you will work on and help build major, high-profile projects in industry, the semi-public sector, and the exhibition and events industry. These include Tomorrowland, Lowlands, the Olympic Games, World Cup matches, Formula 1, trade fairs at venues such as the RAI and Jaarbeurs, refugee camps and emergency hospitals.
WHAT ARE YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Quality and sustainability standards are adhered to across all 1,500 of our projects. On a daily basis, you will champion the strategic vision on water quality, risk management and MTD’s positioning as a market leader in water quality. In addition, you will be responsible for:
- Compliance with all international compliance regulations and certifications applicable to us, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, KIWA, VCA, ESG and CSRD, particularly in relation to drinking water and waste water.
- Setting up, managing and developing the Water QHSE and Sustainability department;
- Establishing a consistent policy and continuously improving the quality management system and sustainability policy;
To collaborate globally with external parties and partners to promote our expertise in water, thereby contributing to MTD’s strategic vision and our position as market leader.
Carrying out all necessary internal and external audits and producing the relevant reports;
Initiating and implementing preventive measures and improvement projects to raise awareness of quality and safety throughout the organisation by organising internal and external information and/or training programmes;
Providing advice and support, both when requested and on own initiative, on issues raised by the Management Team and the Board;
For large-scale projects (e.g. building a field hospital, organising a festival, exhibition or trade fair), it is essential to provide information to clients or to train staff in new standards. You are able to align your priorities, costs and planning effectively with these requirements, and we challenge you to think outside the box and come up with new online formats and initiatives to achieve this successfully, whilst minimising our carbon footprint in terms of travel to those locations.
