Water Quality Adviser

As a Water Quality Advisor, you will ensure that the water infrastructure at our 1,500 projects (including events such as Tomorrowland, Lowlands, the Olympic Games and Formula 1) worldwide is implemented safely and in accordance with QHSE requirements, and that we hold the appropriate certifications at all times.

Job Vacancy: Water Quality Advisor | QHSE Department | 40 hours | €3,000–€5,000 | Tilburg + 1 day of remote working

You will coordinate and maintain our water quality and ensure that we meet the relevant requirements.

The aim of this role is to position MTD globally as the leading authority in the field of safe (drinking and waste) water. In this role, you will be part of our QHSE department (comprising one Quality Manager and one Environmental, Climate and Sustainability Adviser) and will be based at our office in Tilburg. This is not a role that involves travelling, although you will have frequent international contact with colleagues and external parties.

We expect you to take a leading role in ensuring the quality of the water we supply. You will proactively put forward ideas for improvements in the areas of water sampling and water treatment, and, in due course, water purification as well.

WHO WE ARE

Working at MTD means working for and helping to build a growing, internationally operating family business specialising in temporary water infrastructure – for both drinking water and wastewater – for large-scale temporary projects. Together with our 150 colleagues worldwide – 70 of whom are based at our head office in Tilburg – you will work on and help build major, high-profile projects in the industrial, semi-public, exhibition and events sectors. These include Tomorrowland, Lowlands, the Olympic Games, World Cup matches, Formula 1, trade fairs at venues such as the RAI and Jaarbeurs, refugee camps and field hospitals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinating and maintaining the validity of certifications such as VCA, the KIWA Safe Drinking Water Certificate, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
• Identify which processes need to be established, adapted and assessed in order to achieve certification
• Involving management, departments and staff in drawing up the appropriate processes
• Ensuring the effectiveness of processes through knowledge-sharing within the organisation
• Drawing up procedures and improving processes
• Submission of the correct reports on water quality.
• Transferring the necessary knowledge on water quality and QHSE protocols
• Ensuring effective and efficient communication within MTD regarding water quality and QHSE
• Discussing the results of analyses on a weekly basis
• Developing, providing advice and implementing actions based on the Data Analyst’s analyses across all areas of QHSE

WHAT MAKES YOU THE RIGHT CANDIDATE?

• HBO degree in Chemical Engineering, Water Technology or Environmental Science
• Knowledge of quality systems
• Audit experience is an advantage
• A good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
• You have an independent approach to work, are a good communicator with strong analytical skills, and are committed to sharing knowledge
• Ideally, you will have experience of working internationally, and you must be willing to work four days a week from our office in Tilburg and to undertake some travel.

There are opportunities for both those just starting out and experienced candidates who have no experience in our sector.

For large-scale projects (e.g. building a field hospital, organising a festival, an exhibition or a sporting event), it is essential to provide information to clients or train staff on new requirements. You are able to think outside the box and come up with new online formats and initiatives to achieve this successfully, whilst minimising our carbon footprint in terms of travel to those locations.
