MTD is looking for an experienced Global HR Director to shape and lead our HR initiatives globally. The new HR Director will play a central role in shaping the company's culture and talent strategy. Our ideal new HR colleague will have experience in a similar role in an international organisation with a multicultural and dynamic working environment.

The challenge of the role lies in the complexity posed by the international scope and the combination of hard and softer HR issues. Hard work is being done today to get the basics right. It is up to the new HR Director to take the next step. She/he will initially focus on strengthening the culture, increasing employee engagement and implementing projects in the areas of sustainable employability, learning & development and succession planning. This includes setting up challenging career paths and providing sufficient development opportunities.

Working closely with the management team, you will contribute to developing a long-term vision for the organisation, taking into account trends in the international labour market and important changes in laws and regulations from the government. In addition, the management team focuses on promoting a positive work culture. Together with fellow directors, you ensure consistency in the way the organisation is managed. You report directly to the CEO.  

MTD is not a big corporate and has designed all its processes to be lean. The culture is very action-oriented. This means that a pragmatic and entrepreneurial HR Director will have plenty of room to roll up her/his own sleeves, make her/his mark and contribute to the company's continued growth.

Priorities for the first 12 months:

  • Strengthening leadership, cooperation and alignment (alignment)
  • Establishing a structured, scalable, international HR base.
  • Strengthen engagement across all regions.
  • Setting up HR support in the United States
  • Implement leadership development and succession planning.
  • Roll out or optimise digital HR systems.
  • Standardise HR processes and policies.

What makes you the right candidate?

Must-haves

  • Bachelor's or master's degree from a recognised university or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years of HR experience in a leadership HR role including managing a diverse team in different locations and countries
  • Demonstrable experience in HR transformation and building scalable HR structures.
  • Pragmatic, decisive and used to an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English and communicatively strong.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with digital HR systems and/or large HR technology projects.
  • Strong social and communication skills in both Dutch and English;

Strong assets

  • Experience with entities in the United States
  • Experience in medium-sized, non-corporate international organisations
